Intermediate Computer Applications to Illustration (VAGD 210)

WHEN TAUGHT: Fall; Winter
PREREQUISITE: MA Major. Must get signature from Instructor and fill out Add/Drop Card in TMA office.
DESCRIPTION: Introduction to computer software programs specific to graphic design.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
  • Students will learn to apply fundamental design and typographic principles using industry-standard graphics applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Students will acquire the necessary design and production skills to produce two conceptual printed pieces: a poster and a CD package.
  • Students will practice the skills learned in class on a regular basis with smaller assigned projects.
  • Students will develop essential written and oral communication skills to explain and defend your work.
