Writer/Director Workshop (474R)

TMA 474R : Writer/Director Workshop Non-Fiction

WHEN TAUGHT: Fall; Winter
PREREQUISITE: Media arts major, TMA 319, Application
DESCRIPTION: Collaborative development, revision, and polishing of nonfiction or multimedia projects.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: While the course is formally completed upon delivery of a completed short film, the practice and demands of directing are emphasized more strongly than the students’ aesthetic choices. As such, knowledge derived from increased directorial experience in a practical setting is the primary objective of the course; the more subjective aspect of individual artistic taste is secondary. Student directors will complete the course having experienced the unique demands placed upon a film director throughout the course of a production.
