Class Access Request Policy

Class approved access to equipment, irrespective of class level, is established at the beginning of each semester by the course instructor providing MAL Access with a list of equipment needed for the class on the TMA Production Equipment Access Form. The requested list will be reviewed by the MAL and then entered into the Ashwire Checkout System. Students will then be able to access the system and schedule approved equipment. If the class request changes during the semester, the instructor will have to fill out the form again and bring it to MAL Access.

For those students in 200 or below level classes wishing to request advanced equipment, the student will be required to follow the steps outlined in the Practice Exercise–Advanced Equipment procedure. If approved, the MAL will schedule the advanced equipment item through Ashwire. The students will be responsible for reserving the class-approved items through the Ashwire system.
