Job Summary
As a member of KUER’s digital team, the digital producer is responsible for assisting the digital coordinator, reporters, news director and/or managing editor present, clear, professional news on KUER’s digital platforms in a timely manner. The digital producer will serve as a copy editor and website producer for the newsroom, while also assisting the programming promotions department by proofreading station content such as weekly newsletters and station announcements. This position reports to news director and/or managing editor through the digital coordinator.

• Copy-edit, proofread and correct typos/grammatical/formatting errors in online stories
• Build and post or schedule stories on through Core Publisher CMS
• Update homepage with daily news stories and features
• Assist digital coordinator in gathering imagery and visuals for daily stories
• Assist reporters and digital coordinator in writing headlines, subheadings and photo captions for daily news stories
• Proofread and correct typos/grammatical/formatting errors in KUER’s weekly newsletter, Station Insider
• Maintain KUER’s photo archive, online story tag database and web audio archive
• Work with marketing intern to track and analyze analytics data for actionable trends across platforms
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English or related field or equivalency; and two years professional experience in providing media-related services required. Specific skills in photography, editing and writing, and/or video and audio production may be required. Strong interpersonal communications skills and a commitment to provide excellent customer service essential.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Media Arts, or a related field, or equivalency.

2 years previous copy editing and/or news writing experience.

Strong grammar skills and familiarity with AP Style.

Experience working with Google Analytics, MailChimp, Drupal CMS preferred.

Valid driver’s license.
