The KUED Production Department internship is designed as a semester experience for pre-professional, undergraduate students. The internship period will begin in early January, 2019 and end in early May, 2019. The intern will be scheduled to work 10 to 15 hours per week.

Job Summary 

KUED-TV, Utah’s premier Public Televsion station, will host one promising student for a semester internship. The Intern will be mentored by award-winning, media professionals and gain practical, hands on experience in field-based documentary work; studio-based series work; and in the creation of on-line content.

Responsibilities  

Intern will be primarily working on KUED’s new, weekly, magazine-format series, This Is Utah, participating in data and media management, close captioning, and transcription as well as Adobe Premiere editing and as a field grip on location shoots. Intern may also learn studio skills such as running camera, studio grip, and control room CG and teleprompter on productions such as The Hinckley Report, The Governor’s New Conference, Contact with Mary Dickson and Conversations with Ted Capener.

 

Minimum Qualifications    

The successful applicant will be an enrolled student in good standing at a college or university. Applicants from all academic departments and all levels of study are encouraged to apply.

 

Editing experience using Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud, along with researching and organizing skills are strongly preferred.
