The first major new motion picture studio in decades, Lionsgate is a global content platform whose films reach audiences around the world. The Motion Picture Production & Development department is seeking interns interested in contributing to and being a part of this rapidly evolving and expanding filmmaking flagship. It is an opportunity for a front row seat to see how a movie studio – with 12-15 movies released per year, and over 100 projects in development – finds movies, develops material, packages projects, greenlights films, and produces movies, as well as an education about the hows and whys of the business and creative decisions they make. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering phones, interacting with filmmakers/producers/agents/assistants/executives, reading scripts, writing coverage, providing support for executive assistants, attending staff meeting, compiling writer and director lists, performing research, and developing a foundation for how the movie business works. A strong work ethic, a professional attitude, an eagerness to contribute and learn, and a passion for movies are required. This is a paid position and students must be currently enrolled full time undergraduates.
To be considered for this internship, we would request students have taken TMA 102 – Intro to Film and TMA 187 – Beginning Production Management.
If you are interested in applying to this internship, please visit with Kyle Stapley in the TMA office (D581 HFAC) or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
