Creator and Editor Internship for “A Day in the Life of”

Summary:
Come join our team at Mountainland Head Start, Inc.! We are looking for 3 interns to help create 3 separate videos called “A Day in the Life of” for the positions of Teachers, Family Advocates and Health Specialists. This internship will start in May and go until August 15th 2017. The position will require 15-20 hours a week and is a non-paid/non-benefited internship for those looking to gain experience in the video creating and editing world.

MHS is looking for interns who are innovative, self-starters, outgoing, great with people, dependable, and sensitive to the needs of families and children. As an intern for this position you will work anywhere from 15-20 hours per week between the hour of 8-5, M-F while filming. The hours then become more flexible after the filming is complete, depending on your availability. Some travel may be required around Utah Valley or the Heber or Nephi areas.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interns will have one month to complete the videos before classes end and then have the rest of the summer until August to edit the videos
• Work with 2 other interns to create 2-3 minute videos
• The videos should look professional and appeal to potential job applicants
• Position reports to HR Specialist once a week for follow-up on project progress
• Interns can bring their own equipment as long as it is approved by HR Specialist
• Video must show employees working on the job with interviewing staff on what they enjoy most about working at Mountainland Head Start, Inc.  with the importance of why it’s great to work at MHS
• Employee will go to a variety of center locations including family homes
• Obtain media release forms from staff and parents prior to filming
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people
• Once completed, the video will be posted on the MHS website under the “Why Work Here” page
• Create a catchy phrase as a video theme

Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere or other video editing software
• Ability to work with people
• Ability to create an inspiring video
• Desire to help children and families in the community
• Ability to work 15-20 hours a week and intern during the summer
• Ability  to commute throughout Utah Valley as needed using own transportation
• Consent to and pass a background check
• Consent to submitting in-kind documentation for your time
