BYU Broadcasting is looking for the right person to join our Post Production team and assist with the creation of TV content for the world. If you have a passionate desire to learn how to create TV programming, willing to learn the ways of the video editing Jedi, have some basic foundation of editing skill, and a huge willingness to learn more, we want you.
Your position would start as a PA (production assistant) to assist in media creation and delivery of a wide variety of content for BYU TV and KBYU. This person must have a great attitude, good video editing skills, some technical understanding of basic video formats, willing to work with a team, and have passion and excitement for producing TV content. This position can be artistic, creative, and rewarding to the right person.
Depending on experience, and skill, and proven abilities, this position has the opportunity to advance to Assistant Editor, Colorist, On-line Editor, D.I.T., or full Editor. There is the potential for growth and increased responsibility for the right candidate who demonstrates the required abilities and skills.
Depending on schedule, this person will work daytime hours and may work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
The Video Editing P.A. for BYU Broadcasting should have 2-3 years of experience editing video and a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or similar program, as well as other related media creation tools. They should also have some experience editing videos for people other than themselves. It is important the Video Editing P.A. be reliable, on time, a problem solver, flexible, able to deal with change and have an attention to detail. We are willing to train the right individual who shows an eager passion to learn more.
